Toka Tū Ake EQC Grants

Toka Tū Ake EQC grants to support teams entering the He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition now available!

To assist the competition’s growth in its early years, Toka Tū Ake EQC has made available a pool of $10,000 for grants to support teams entering this year’s He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition. The grants are to support development of this competition. Teams planning on entering are eligible to apply for a grant of $1,000 per team for teams based in the Auckland area, or $3,000 per team for teams based outside the Auckland area. The purpose of the grants is to support travel, accommodation and conference registrations for teams who would otherwise find it difficult to come to the conference and compete in the He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition.

To apply, please email exec@nzsee@org.nz by Sunday March 26th with the details of your team’s name, your team members, where you are located, and why your team would benefit from a support grant. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of March.

Grants will be paid following the He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition. Payment of the support grant will be conditional upon all team members having attended the conference and having created, presented, and tested a structural model as part of the He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition. Distribution of the funds within the team is by mutual agreement within each team that receives a support grant.

Yes, team members can still register at the early bird rate for the conference until the 26th March deadline provided your entry to the He Tohu Pūpū Seismic Design Competition has been notified to exec@nzsee.org.nz by applying for a support grant or you have notified Catalina of your entry (cmir794@aucklanduni.ac.nz).
