NZSEE 2023

19 – 21 April, University of Auckland

On behalf of the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) we warmly invite you to join us at the NZSEE Annual Technical Conference to be held on campus at the University of Auckland in the Sir Owen G Glenn Building (across the road from the Faculty of Engineering) from 19 – 21 April 2023.  Following the on-line conference format of 2022 we are particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of returning to our traditional in-person conference format in 2023.

This year we have chosen the conference theme of ‘Facing the Seismic Challenge’.  Currently there is much work being undertaken linked with a revision of the national seismic hazard model, and continued improvements in our understanding of earthquake and associated tsunami hazards across Aotearoa. New seismic risk guidance has recently been released and collectively we are continuing in our pursuit of facing the seismic challenge.

As is customary for the NZSEE Annual Technical Conference, the event aims to address the full spectrum of issues facing earthquake engineering designers and industry practitioners, researchers, policy writers and implementors, and those tasked with preparations and recovery following earthquakes.

The technical programme will include keynote addresses and special sessions on the current and future challenges facing earthquake engineering. Beyond the technical programme, the conference provides a chance for peers to reconnect face-to-face.

Please note the key dates for abstract and paper submission. As the conference date draws closer the website will be updated with details of the keynote speakers, programme and other conference activities.

We look forward to welcoming you all to Auckland for an enjoyable conference.
