The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 replaced the 1908 Act under which our Society has been operating as an Incorporated Society. The new Act requires all societies to re-register under the new legislation by 5 April 2026. A significant task over the past year has been to review our constitution and amend this to comply with the new Act, as well as make additional changes to ensure the constitution is current given technological changes as well as ensures good governance. A special general meeting was held on 18 February 2026, at which the changes were confirmed by the membership. The Society is in the process of registering the new constitution with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies. The updated constitution can be accessed here.
