The NZSEE 2025 organising team invites researchers and professionals to submit abstracts reporting state-of-the-art developments on the science and practice of earthquake engineering.
Paper topics need to be related to earthquake engineering but preference will be given to topics that complement the theme by providing new insights into:
- Engineering seismology, including basin and site response, seismic hazard and risk
- Earthquake geotechnical hazards, tsunami and their impacts
- Influence of society, policy, culture, and emergency management on earthquake risk, and community resilience
- Digital tools, machine learning (AI) and emerging technologies in earthquake engineering
- Seismic performance, risk mitigation and resilience of new and existing structures
- Performance-based seismic design
- Seismic design and research of bridges, marine and other transportation infrastructure
- Earthquake geotechnical design including soil-structure interaction
- Quantifying and addressing uncertainties in seismic design
- Sustainability and decarbonisation in design practice
- Design and performance of lifelines and infrastructure
- Building code compliance, building legislation, standards development, land-use and planning
- Low damage design
- Other topics related to earthquake engineering
